February 3-13, 2017
Saint d’ Eau, Haiti
Cost of Materials: $9,400 | Number of Volunteers: 10
On this trip, five groups worked together as a team to provide medical aid to residents of communities in and around Montrouis and Port-au-Prince. Global First Responder was excited to be able to work with Osapo, Project Medishare, Partners In Health, and Paul Chester Children’s Hope Foundation. A large team delivered large results!
Volunteers offered full-service medical clinics and health education classes and engaged in community service projects. The medical clinics provided primary health care to all ages. The health education classes covered general hygiene, disease prevention, infant care, CPR, and first-aid training. The community service projects involved constructing additions and making improvements to a hospital in Montrouis.
Our construction volunteers built an 8,500 square foot school for children to use for education.
