International Children’s Heart Foundation

International Children’s Heart Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide free cardiac surgery to kids in developing countries while providing education to local teams.

Medical mission trips are made up of volunteer medical professionals with experience working with pediatric cardiac surgical patients, including pediatric cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, OR nurses, pediatric cardiologists, ICU nurses, intensivists, and respiratory therapists. Urgently needed are pediatric surgeons, pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists, OR nurses, and RNFAs with cardiac experience.

International Medical Corps

International Medical Corps is a nonprofit organization working to relieve the suffering of those impacted by war, natural disaster, and disease by delivering vital healthcare services that focus on training, helping devastated populations return to self-reliance.

International Medical Corps is looking for highly trained medical staff to add to their emergency response roster, which requires that volunteers be willing to deploy rapidly—usually within 72 hours—and for a duration of 2–8 weeks. (Preference is given to those able to deploy for longer durations.)

Doctors Without Borders

Doctors Without Borders is an international medical humanitarian organization working in nearly 70 countries to assist people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe. 

A wide variety of volunteers are needed: physicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, specialists in infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS, and TB, surgeons, nurse midwives, certified midwives, licensed mental health specialists, anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, pharmacists, obstetricians/gynecologists, epidemiologists, operating room nurses, and laboratory technicians.
