Global Healing

Global Healing—a nonprofit organization based in Berkeley, California—is dedicated to improving health systems in resource-constrained parts of the world.

Rather than provide short-term care, Global Healing’s volunteers provide training to local medical professionals that will have lasting impact.

Extreme Response International

Extreme Response International is a nonprofit organization committed to changing the lives of people living in extreme, often life-threatening, situations. Extreme Response International operates a series of programs designed to bring help and hope to those in need, with a particular emphasis on at-risk children and women.

Volunteer medical professionals who can perform, teach, and assist with healthcare programs are needed.

Agape Unlimited

Agape Unlimited is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to promote health and meet the needs of the medically underserved in the former Soviet Union. This includes working in far remote villages and in large inner cities. 

Doctors, physician assistants, nurses, and nurse practitioners may volunteer.

Doctors Without Borders

Doctors Without Borders is an international medical humanitarian organization working in nearly 70 countries to assist people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe. 

A wide variety of volunteers are needed: physicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, specialists in infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS, and TB, surgeons, nurse midwives, certified midwives, licensed mental health specialists, anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, pharmacists, obstetricians/gynecologists, epidemiologists, operating room nurses, and laboratory technicians.
